Secrecy Bill will stunt our nation

2011-11-26 12:59

Our government is taking us for granted and going all the way to destroy us as citizens of this country.

The secrecy bill will not do any good to our ailing society, as it will add salt to the wounds.

We, as the nation, have got every right to know what is happening in our very own government that we elected with the hope of doing more to improve our lives.

The ANC-led government is failing hands down to address and fight the issue of corruption in the land. Why would they want to come with a law that will blind us as citizens?

What we see here is political manipulation where a group of thugs in the ruling party want to close and cover up their dirty tricks. This is detrimental to our very stretched democracy.

Most of us depend on the media to access the news, but if our government decides to stop all this, will we be able to develop as a nation?

Will all those principles of “Batho pele” still be honed and achieved?

We cast our vote so that we can be included in what is going on with the running of our own government. Amendments need to be made; a lot more thought must go into it.

The secrecy bill will harm the country big time.
