Sport above sex for website fans

2009-12-18 11:35

South African sports fans would rather watch live sport than have

sex with their partners, according to an online poll.

The survey by website Sport24 among 7?000 of its readers, also

revealed that most of them would rather rescue Bok captain John Smit in time of

need than one of the country’s most alluring women.

The website, which posted the results this week, said readers were

given a scenario in which they had to choose to give a lift to Smit, late for a

Currie Cup game, or beauty Lee-Anne Liebenberg, late for the swimsuit section of

a beauty pageant.

“Incredibly, nearly 63% of all participants in this survey (of whom

just over 70% were male) said they would rather offer the Bok captain a lift!”

the website said.

More than 70% of the participants would rather watch live sport

than “play” with their partners.

The website said the results “proved just how much South African

men live for sport”.

In a comment posted on the website, one reader said: “The worst

part would be, you help out John and he still ends up going home to a girl like

Lee-Anne.”

Another, who signed himself “SA Male” said: “Nice to know that 63%

would pick up a hooker on the side of the road.”
