The people who hold the power: Andile Matshikiza

2012-11-10 11:07

Matshikiza (56) joined the ANC in 1985. He’s the chairperson of the party’s Billy Holiday branch in Cape Town’s Ward 38, which includes parts of Gugulethu and Nyanga.

He is the proud father of two “beautiful daughters”, now in their twenties.

“I believe the ANC is a liberal organisation and it is mostly for black people. Regardless, it also allows other races membership cards. The organisation’s policies are accepted on an international level before and after 1994.”

He believes continuity is the key to unity. “The same leadership that is in power and governs the ANC should stay as it is, for the sake of unity. Transport and accommodation provided or not, I am going to Mangaung.”
