This is how you turn the knob. ANN7 editor’s on-air lesson for technical crew

2013-11-15 08:43

It’s the latest ANN7 (DStv 405) on-air blooper you have to see.

Watch as an ANN7 presenter goes into a shaky fit of unhappiness live on air, waving, and then stopping the show (don’t mind the guest in studio), suddenly deciding to explain to the ANN7 technical crew how to properly work the teleprompter.

The latest on-air flop involves ANN7 Africa editor Daniel Makokera, who brings a halt to the Africa Tonight show on the Gupta news channel when he struggles to read from the teleprompter.

Makokera then worsens the problem by offering advice, directly addressing the off-camera technical team, making wild hand gestures and showing ANN7 technical people how to turn the knob at Infinity Media’s ANN7 studio in Midrand.

“Can we sustain the rolling nicely?” pleads Makokera, as ANN7 viewers are left stunned.

ANN7 remains plagued by on-air problems. Makokera’s on-air gaffe follows on that of Gupta TV’s star hire, Chantal Rutter Dros, who could be heard telling the crew: “Okay. Guys, we really messed that one up” because her microphone was not muted.
