Thousands gather for Heritage Day event

2010-09-24 11:04

Thousands of people gathered at Moses Mabhida Stadium this morning for the main national Heritage Day event.
They were entertained by various artists and President Jacob Zuma was expected to address them in the afternoon.

Zuma was still busy at the ANC national general council (NGC) at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

Some delegates attending the NGC were also expected to flock to the stadium when it finished.

Thousands of members of the Nazareth Baptist Church, popularly known as the Shembe Church, were seated on the stadium field while other people occupied the stadium seats.
