Three-hour flight delays

2012-02-24 07:27

Velvet Sky flights were delayed by up to three hours this morning, the low-cost airline said.

The 5.45am flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town, the 6.10am flight from Durban to Johannesburg and the 6.20am flight from Johannesburg to Durban were delayed, Velvet Sky said in a statement.

A business dispute caused all Velvet Sky flights to be cancelled yesterday.

The airline said it was in a dispute with a service provider and was in the process of changing service providers, but that the process had not been concluded in time to operate.

The broad-based black economic empowerment company is based in Durban and flies between that city, Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Velvet Sky said the delays, which started on Wednesday, were caused by circumstances beyond its control.
