Tickets for Saturday’s CAF Champions League final first leg between Orlando Pirates and Al Ahly are selling very fast and sold-out signs are imminent.

Earlier today, about 20 000 tickets had already been sold and Pirates spokesperson Mickey Modisane said he expected the remaining half to be snapped up before tomorrow.

Modisane appealed to the supporters to make hay if they wanted to be part of the spectacle at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday at 8.30pm.

“This is not about Pirates only, hence we are appealing to all the supporters irrespective of their loyalty to come and enjoy the game,” said Modisane.

He said it would be a good advert of South African football to see different colours at the stadium.

“As we are playing at home we should enjoy the support of all the teams and I am confident we will fill the stadium.”

He said the players were raring to go and had promised to do their best to win the game.

“We have a clean bill of health apart from two injured players and we are ready for the game.”

The Egyptian giants touched down in the country yesterday to prepare thoroughly for this clash.

Modisane said this showed how serious they take this encounter as they did not want to leave anything to chance.
