TOYOTA SA is to recall 52 546 vehicles due to accelerator problems,

the president of the company said in Johannesburg today.

The recall will be limited to the Toyota Corolla, the February 2007

to January 2010 model, the Toyota Auris, from the June 2006 to January 2010

model and the Toyota Verso, from the October 2008 to the January 2010

President and CEO of Toyota Johan Van Zyl said: “At this point I

would like to emphasise that our action is pre-emptive and based on obsession

with building quality products, some things that we are known for.”
