Tropika unveils the seven celebs going to Mexico

2011-07-06 13:55

Today Tropika announced the celebrities they will be hosting for their fourth season of Tropika Island of Treasure.

The seven celebrities, who will be jetting off to Cancun in Mexico sometime this year, are models Joelle Kayembe and Tracy McGregor, 5FM’s Poppy Ntshongwana, funnyman Tshepo Mogale, singer Phila Mazibuko, club DJ Zinhle and rapper Siyabonga Slikour Metane.

Like the previous three seasons of the reality show, all seven will be joined by seven unknown individuals who will all battle it out for a chance to pocket R1 million.

“There is so much I want to do with the million, although I can’t really reveal the one major thing, but I will definitely invest some of it.

“I realised from the past season that it’s not about the strategy or the physical being but more about the mind, I am willing to backstab someone. After all, it is a free million cash,” said Mazibuko.

The launch was held on the chilly San Deck of the Sandton Sun Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg and saw most of the celebrities coming to take part.

Model Kayembe, was a no-show even though organisers were certain she was going to arrive.

The Mexican-themed event had piñatas, a riding bull, photo booth and food from that country.

Last year saw rapper JR Bogopa walk away with the million after spending 10 days in Phuket, Thailand.

The 23-year-old rapper scooped the prize from celebs like former Miss SA Tatum Keshwar, TV personality Bonang Matheba, comedian Loyiso Gola, socialite Khanyi Mbau, singers Dionne Song and Snotkop.

“If I were to win the million I would love to buy myself a small cottage or house by the beach and the rest I will invest,” said Ntshongwana.
