Two in court for Linden murder

Two men appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court in

connection with a the murder of a Linden guesthouse owner, Gauteng police said

today.

Twenty-two-year-old Dean Gilbert and 32-year-old Marco Gouveia

appeared yesterday on charges of murder, kidnapping, robbery and theft,

Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said.

They were arrested on Wednesday in Three Rivers near

Vereeniging.

“A provincial task team and detectives recovered a vehicle stolen

from bed and breakfast premises in Linden two weeks ago,” Dlamini said.

The men had apparently been driving the car when they were

arrested.

The body of 65-year-old Georgie Jacklin was found in Sasolburg at

the start of the month after she went missing from her home in

Johannesburg.

She was found with head injuries, although a post-mortem had yet to

confirm how she died.

Several small items including her handbag, laptop and hi-fi system

were missing from her house.

“The two men will appear in court sometime next week,” Dlamini

said.
