United set to play Chelsea if both win next games

2013-02-18 09:20

London – Manchester United and Chelsea will meet in the FA Cup quarterfinals if they win their fifth-round matches.

Defending champion Chelsea, which is looking to win the competition for a fourth time in five years, advanced with a 4-0 victory over Brentford in a fourth-round replay yesterday.

Chelsea travels to Middlesbrough on February 27 in the fifth round. Premier League leader United plays Reading in that round today.

Manchester City, who beat Leeds on Sunday, will host second-tier club Barnsley in the last-eight on March 9 or 10.

Wigan will play the winner of the replay between Everton and Oldham after they drew Saturday.

There is guaranteed to be a second-tier side in the semifinals at Wembley Stadium in April after Millwall was drawn Sunday to face Blackburn in the quarterfinals.
