Usher’s ex-wife has asked for an emergency custody hearing after one of the couple’s sons nearly drowned in a pool at the singer’s Atlanta home.

A lawyer for Tameka Foster Raymond filed the request in court yesterday. It says the boy “suffered a near-death accident” while left unsupervised.

A judge has set a hearing for Friday.

Atlanta police have said 5-year-old Usher Raymond V on Monday fell to the bottom of pool and became stuck in the drain. Police say he was alert and conscious when he was pulled out and taken to a hospital.

The singer was awarded primary physical custody of his two sons last year.
