Vladimir Putin: This is not royal behaviour, Prince Charles

2014-05-24 17:17

Saint Petersburg, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Britain’s Prince Charles of unacceptable and unroyal behaviour after the prince allegedly likened Putin to Adolf Hitler.

Putin said he had not heard the comment, made by Prince Charles to a Jewish woman who had fled Poland during World War II, but asked reporters to pass on a message to Charles and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

“If you are angry, this means you are wrong,” he told journalists from international news agencies in Saint Petersburg.

“I have not heard this remark. If [it was said], then it is unacceptable. I think he himself realises that. He is a well-brought-up person. I know him and other members of the royal family personally. This is not royal behaviour. But I have got used to all kinds of things over the years.”
