Barcelona continued their world football dominance trouncing Brazilian champions Santos 4-0 to clinch their second Fifa Club World Cup held in Yokohama, Japan on Sunday.

The Fifa Club World Cup is a soccer competition between the champion clubs from all six continental confederations and one from the host country.

Playing in front of a sold-out crowd at the Yokohama International Stadium, the Spanish champions led by master ball juggler Lionel Messi outclassed the Brazilians.

Sunday’s game billed as a battle between Messi – the world’s best player – and football sensation Neymar did not disappoint.

But it was Messi who had the edge, scoring twice and contributing magnificent touches to Xavi and Cesc Fabregas goals.

Neymar’s efforts were frustrated by a well-organised Barcelona defence that kept a clean slate despite numerous attempts at goal by Santos.

Messi was presented with the Adidas Golden Ball award as the most outstanding player at the tournament while team mate Xavi earned the Silver Ball awarded to the second best player of the tournament.

The performance of Santos’ Neymar did not go unnoticed as he also walked away with the Adidas Bronze Ball award as the third-best player.

Barcelona scooped the Fair Play award for their sportsmanship.
