Watch goes missing from Oscar Pistorius crime scene

2014-03-14 10:52

A watch belonging to Oscar Pistorius disappeared from the scene of Reeva Steenkamp’s shooting, the North Gauteng High Court has heard.

Lieutenant Colonel Schoombie van Rensburg, one of the first police officers to arrive on the scene at Pistorius’ house on February 14 last year, testified today that despite repeated attempts to make sure Pistorius’ eight “expensive” watches were kept secure, one went missing.

Van Rensburg said everyone on the scene was searched – as well as the vehicles of the forensic experts present – but the watch could not be located.

The court also heard a forensic expert had handled Pistorius’ gun without gloves.
