We’re more interested in your son, Prince Charles hears

2011-05-20 12:54

Bucharest – Britain’s Prince Charles has described to the Romanian president his passion for Transylvania at the end of a five-day visit to Romania, only to hear that journalists were more interested in asking questions about Prince William.

Charles told President Traian Basescu today he was “very impressed” by the region and the president thanked him for giving the region a boost.

Basescu responded that journalists were more interested in asking questions about his just-married son Prince William.

Charles, who did not take questions, called Transylvania, in the northwest of Romania, a “national treasure”.

The prince spent four days travelling through the unspoiled landscape and viewing centuries-old farming traditions in Transylvania where he owns several houses and cottages.

He also met Prime Minister Emil Boc today.
