A Mpumalanga woman was sentenced to 15 years in jail by the Middelburg Circuit of the North Gauteng High Court yesterday for killing her husband, police said.

Betty Tsie, 38, and four men assaulted and burnt Mishack Malapane to death in 2009, Lt-Col Leonard Hlathi said.

Malapane, 40, was a teacher at a private school in Ogies when he was killed. The five forcefully took Malapane from his work place and drove him to a veld, where they killed him.

Selby Khanya, 40, and Bongani Nkambule, 42, were each sentenced to 12 years in jail, Wisdom Cindi, 24, to 10 years, and John Masuku, 52, to five years.
