Popular television presenter, actor and musician Bonginkosi Dlamini has handed himself over to the police.

Dlamini (34), popularly known as Zola, handed himself over to Brixton police in Joburg this morning following an incident where he allegedly set dogs on Sunday World journalist Ngwako Malatji last weekend.

Lieutenant-Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou, Gauteng police spokesperson said the musician has been charged with assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm and will be appearing in court today at Brixton magistrate’s court.

Malatji was reported to have been writing an article on Zola at the musician’s house in Melville, Joburg, when the incident happened.

The Daily Sun reported that Dlamini would not let the photographer who accompanied Malatji into his premises, and when the reporter entered alone, two dogs were set on him.

He was also allegedly struck with a chair.

The reporter laid a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following his ordeal.
