2008 Homebru SA writing KZN events

2008-05-21 00:00

May is the month Exclusive Books celebrates South African writing in all its diversity with its Homebru collection. There are book launches and related events at various stores.

On Thursday, Rosie Kendal will be at Exclusive Books in the Midlands Mall to launch her novel, Karma Suture. The book tells the story of Sue Carey, a driven, twenty-something doctor struggling to preserve her sanity, sobriety and humanity in the corridors of one of Cape Town’s biggest public hospitals. Finding imaginative ways of saving patients is her life’s work. Finding a man who wants more than a one-night stand would be nice as well. Kendal is a general practitioner, freelance writer and mother who lives in Umhlanga Rocks.

The launch is at 5.30 for 6 pm and those wishing to attend are asked to phone 033 3422 074 or e-mail: midlands@exclusivebooks.co.za

Other events are a launch of There are Ants in my Sugar by Annica Foxcroft at Exclusive Books in the Pavilion at 5.30 for 6 pm today (031 265 0454 or westville@

exclusivebooks.co.za), and another launch of Karma Suture by Rosie Kendal at 6 for 6.30 pm at Exclusive’s Gateway branch on May 27 (031 566 5901 or gateway@excl

usivebooks).
