A feast for school rugby fans today?

2013-03-29 00:00

WITH both the Kearsney and Maritzburg College 150th festivals running concurrently today, school rugby lovers could watch one of the top games at Kearsney at midday when Kearsney take on Paarl Gym, both winners on the first day.

They could then motor back to Pietermaritzburg to watch the final game on the first day of the 150th Festival on Goldstones.

This has College against Grey HS from Port Elizabeth, the recent winners against Westville.

Kearsney players to watch should be Chris Lines at fullback, eighth man Ayron Schramm and flank Jean-Luc du Preez, who has just returned from injury so may not be at his best.

Glenwood, after losing against Paul Roos, will be keen to get their first win of the season when they take on Selborne at Kearsney. Wetville is probably in for another drubbing against Outeniqua, who along with Grey College, look like the form teams at the Kearsney Festival.

The other KZN side playing today at College are a Development XV, who play Rondebosch, after DHS were forced to withdraw. The Cape side has more than half of their team that played in a competent side last year.

OTHER THURSDAY KZN RESULTS

Hilton 13 Bishops 29 (at St Stithians). St Charles 18 Viadana-Italy (at Krugersdorp). George Campbell 31 Benoni HS 10 (at BizSports at Glenwood)
