A great night of fun and laughter

2012-02-15 00:00

FRESH from a successful run at the Hexagon Theatre and the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown last year, Robert-Ian Caldwell and Jeff Judge present A Green Number at the new supper-theatre venue, Nicolson’s, at Garlington Estate in Hilton, tonight and tomorrow night at 6 pm for 6.30 pm.

Caldwell, who is a Hilton-based physician, and Judge, a professional musician who specialises in saxophone and piano, have performed together since 2001. A Green Number was their third Grahamstown collaboration.

They have also performed at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Caldwell has appeared solo in New Zealand, and in London and Torquay in Britain.

In their latest show, Caldwell is on “stage, song and sedation”, while Judge does keys, saxophone and vocals. Patrons can experience Malema’s domestic policy, decomposed Broadway musicals, Dalai diversions, name changes, polluted rivers, a bit of tartan dyslexia, and a health-care section that should relieve depression.

Having seen the show myself, when it was staged at the Hexagon Dive last year, I can guarantee you’re in for a great night of fun and laughter.

Tickets for A Green Number are R120, which includes the show and Nicolson’s interval snacks. To book your seat, phone Tanya at 033 329 5200 or 082 591 3884.
