ANCYL: South coast branches say ‘No’ to disbanding

2011-09-30 00:00

SOUTH Coast branches of the ANC Youth League convened a meeting yesterday to discuss the announcement that the ANCYL executive committee in KwaZulu-Natal is to be disbanded.

The president of the league in KZN, Mthan-deni Dlungwane, announced on Tuesday that the league’s national working committee has stripped the the provincial executive committee of its powers.

The South Coast ANCYL chairperson, Mthandeni Ngcobo, said the league in the region remains unshaken by the move by the national leadership.

“What they did was politically incorrect and we will continue to stand behind our province and its leadership. We do not support this disbanding. We do not support a divided party. It achieves nothing for the organisation.”
