Accused attacker Carrim ties the knot

SELF proclaimed gangster “Chicky Lamba”, who gained notoriety when amateur footage of him assaulting and verbally abusing a love rival went viral, has wed his much sought after fiancée.

Lamba, whose given name is Shakeel Carrim, had taken issue with Durban businessman Aadil Osman encroaching on his love.

Along with two friends, Carrim had coerced Osman into a car near Pretoria and held him at gunpoint, while ridiculing him and beating him.

The trio now face criminal charges.

While the threat of arrest loomed, Carrim wed Naushina Ganie last week.

In his first interview since the video and love triangle escapade landed him in hot water, Carrim said he hoped to turn over a new leaf, even reconciling with Osman.

“We seem to have patched things up but it is all behind us and I’m looking forward to a happy married life,” he said.

He said he has been taking it easy since the release of the video and said he regretted his actions.

“How it was portrayed is different to how we felt it was.

“Everyone just heard Aadil’s side of the story and it went out of control,” he said.

Carrim said it was not his intention to harm Osman.

The groom said he only received his phone back from his father just before his wedding after it was confiscated when the video went viral.

Osman maintained that he and Carrim had not buried the hatchet, and insisted that he was still affected by the incident.

“My business has mostly suffered because most of my clients have the number of my phone that was taken away during the ordeal,” he said.
