Air of excitement as Amakhosi inch closer to PSL title

2015-04-22 00:00

CAPE TOWN — With the prospect of securing the PSL title, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter hopes Amakhosi fans will fill the stadium when they face Polokwane City.

The Glamour Boys face Rise and Shine this evening in a match that could see the club clinch the 2014/15 league title with three games to spare.

Amakhosi lead their nearest challengers Mamelodi Sundowns by 13 points and victory for the home side would put Baxter’s men in an unassailable position on top.

“We are aware of the position but all we can do is concentrate on our own mission,” says coach Baxter, who will be back on the bench after missing the last two league matches.

“If we continue to win our games, the title will sooner or later be ours.”

Kaizer Chiefs’ marketing director Jessica Motaung notes that excitement is building up to the match as Chiefs supporters all want to be there when their beloved team cross the line.

“There is a strong possibility of witnessing history on Wednesday night [tonight],” Motaung stressed.

“We would love to share that experience with a stadium filled with loyal followers who have inspired us to greatness throughout the season.”

The match kicks off at the FNB Stadium at 7.30 pm.
