ONE of the biggest parties happening over New Year is the Arise Fest at Midmar Dam, organised by Arise Ministries in Hilton. The line-up includes Johannesburg-based Harbourlight, The Arrows, Versus The Wolf and John Ellis (former frontman for Tree63).

This is the second running of the festival and features 31 acts performing over two days.

Tickets are R300 for a full pass which is valid from 8 am on December 30 to 5 pm on January 1 and R200 to attend the festival from 8 am on December 31 to 5 pm on January 1 at Computicket. Tickets will also be available at the gate for the above prices.

Early-bird tickets are R30 cheaper and can be bought at Arise Ministries (9 Crompton road, Hilton — 033 343 2324); Wesley Methodist Church (69 Cleland Road, Pietermaritzburg — 033 386 1386); Olive Tree Church (113 Florida Road, Durban — 031 303 9063) and Westville Baptist Church (2 Church Place, Westville — 031 267 1716).
