Art: students go ‘Off the wall’

2011-09-13 00:00

JUST weeks after the ‘Invigour8’ exhibition by visual arts students of the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg, senior and post-graduate students will showcase their work in the “Off The Wall” exhibition in the Jack Heath Gallery at the Centre for Visual Art in Ridge Road from today to September 30.

These student showcase initiatives and the revival of the Jack Heath Gallery space have been organised by lecturer and artist Faye Spencer, who specialises in drawing and painting. She said students have taken the initiative in designing posters for the exhibition and spreading the word on social networks like Facebook.

The work exhibited covers drawing, painting, printmaking and digital arts.

“We are pleased that the exhibition thus is representative of the many areas of specialisation offered at the CVA,” Spencer said.
