Assault: Durban pupil critical after stabbing

2009-10-28 00:00

A DURBAN pupil is in a critical condition in hospital after he was stabbed in a robbery yesterday.

It is believed that the grade 11 pupil of Overport Secondary School was on the sports field when he was accosted by two armed men.

The boy tried to fight off the suspects, but was stabbed twice. He screamed for help, but the men ran off.

Netcare spokesman Jeff Wicks said that the victim was stabilised on the scene before being taken to Addington Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
