Barman shot dead

2009-11-11 00:00

A DURBAN barman was shot and killed outside the Woodlands Sports Club yesterday, police said.

The circumstances surrounding the murder are mysterious as nothing was taken from the victim.

Police spokesman Captain Thulani Zwane said Mbongeleni Khuzwayo (37) had walked out of the building around 7 am when he was accosted by four armed men. “As the victim walked into the courtyard, one of the suspects opened fire on him. The victim died on the scene,” he said.

“The suspects fled on foot into nearby bushes. Police combed the area and are still searching for the men,” he said.
