Beheading: Trio appear in court

2009-06-18 00:00

THREE youths, Dhiren Larkin (18), Avikaar Manmohan (20) and Dhiresh Singh (18), appeared briefly in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday in connection with an incident in which a Copesville man, Kishore Ramdayal (52), died when he was almost decapitated after he had allegedly intervened in a street fight on Sunday.

The youths were not asked to plead to any charges and the case was adjourned to June 24.

They were remanded in custody. They face a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder of Ramdayal’s son and a man, named “Vincent” on the charge sheet, whom they allegedly assaulted with iron rods.
