Bollywood: Concert coming to PMB soon

FROM a selection of Bollywood’s most memorable music to the comedy stylings of one of Durban’s foremost comedians, the Witness Bollywood Nights is set to dazzle Pietermaritzburg audiences at the Olympia Hall at the Royal Showgrounds at 7.30 pm on October 9.

Capturing the rich colour and vibrant spirit of Bollywood, along with a good measure of fun and laughter, the concert features well-known vocalists Umitha Kaljan and Jaani, the acclaimed dancers of the Nateshwar Dance Company, and popular comedian Afzal Khan.

High-intensity lighting effects against a backdrop of breathtaking visuals on large AV screens, colourful costumes and energising music set the stage for an evening of the glitz, glamour and pure entertainment that is synonymous with Bollywood. The latest chart-toppers and hits from trendy Bollywood films are included on the programme.

Tickets, at only R70 per person, can be purchased from The Witness offices (033 355 1111) or at selected newsagents around town. There will be a full cash bar and other refreshments on sale. There is also secure free parking.

Durban-based full-time actor and stand-up comedian Afzal Khan is the star of numerous productions including the highly successful Chalo Cinema and MNet’s New Directions film Mis Fits. His stage credits include Four Weddings and a Plastic Surgeon and Mooi Devi’s Muti .
