Bowlers dominate at cricket week

2009-12-15 00:00

THE first day of the Under 19 Coca Cola Khaya Majola Week in Benoni on Saturday did not provide the expected run fest. Instead it was the bowlers that largely dominated with only two totals being above 200. The second day wasn’t much better, although the match between KZN Inland and Easterns saw over 500 runs scored in a drawn game.

There have been three centuries scored, two by local KZN boys. Josh Richards from Northerns made 104 against Border and Bruce Kruger from Westville, playing for KZN Coastal, made 116 against Eastern Province, both on Saturday. On Sunday it was St Charles’s Matt Hulett who reached three figures in the match between KZN Inland and Easterns.
