‘Braaight brothers’ ready to put on a sizzling show for ‘Braai Master’

2013-01-31 00:00

TOM and Dan Cunnama, aka the “Braaight Brothers” are ready to show off their braaing skills to the country.

The brothers, who grew up in Pietermaritzburg and are based in Cape Town, will be auditioning for SABC 3 reality show, The Ultimate Braai Master, in a few weeks and believe that they have what it takes to wow the judges.

“I think we have a good chance. We make good food and have very good ideas,” Dan told The Witness.

Last year, South Africa was introduced to the show, which saw 15 teams of two battling it out on various outdoor cooking challenges.

The second season will take teams on a journey for 60 days and 8 000 km and the challenges are said to be “tougher”.

Dan said they both enjoyed the show and Tom thought it would be a “cool” idea to enter.

“We thought it would be a fun road trip and it sounds amazing,” said Dan.

They might have an advantage because they have been braaing since they were very young.

“We used to braai as a family and also on camping trips.”

The brothers say they are also braaing because they enjoy the outdoors.

What might set the brothersdapart from the rest of the conetestants is that they also love experimenting with food and are confident that they have a good chance of winning the judges over.

The Ultimate Braai Master, Season 2 will premiere on SABC 3 this spring.
