Bulls: scrumhalf joins injury list

2011-07-26 00:00

PRETORIA — The Blue Bulls were hit by another setback yesterday when scrumhalf Ruan Snyman was ruled out of action for three weeks with a tear in his chest muscle.

Snyman, who just returned to action against the Cheetahs last Saturday after missing two months with a necessary groin operation, came on as a substitute in the second half but didn’t last long.

Yesterday he was diagnosed with the injury, meaning that the Bulls will have to look for a replacement scrumhalf for this weekend’s big game against Western Province at Newlands.

This means that Dustin Jinka will certainly start the game against WP, with SA U20 scrumhalf Lohan Jacobs coming onto the bench.

There is also a bit of a scare surrounding flyhalf Francois Brummer, who scored 18 points against Free State, including the winning penalty 10 minutes from the end to clinch victory. Brummer is suffering from a rib injury but should be ready to play.
