Burned victim linked to murder

2010-11-16 00:00

THE Copesville man who met a fiery death at the hands of residents frustrated by his alleged criminal activities early Sunday evening has been linked to a murder and robbery case that took place on Old Greytown Road on Saturday afternoon.

Warrant Officer Joey Jeevan said 21-year-old Thandolwakhe Langa is thought to have been one of the two men who robbed and manhandled 40-year-old Regina Zulu.

At the time, 17-year-old Joseta Mofokeng happened to be walking by and protested.

She was shot in the stomach and died instantly.

Langa and his accomplice made a speedy getaway, but he was eventually cornered by the community. His alleged accomplice is still at large.

The Witness reported both incidents, but at the time the link between the two cases had yet to be confirmed by police.
