Bust: speedster clocked 252?km/h

A DRIVER was nabbed doing 252 km/h on the N2 southbound near Sezela in the Park Rynie area yesterday morning. Amith Sookraj (30), a Phoenix resident, was also under the influence of alcohol. His breathalyser test measured 0,66 mg per 1 000 ml of breath. The legal limit is 0,24 mg per 1 000 ml.

Road Traffic Inspectorate spokeswoman Zinhle Mngomezulu said Sookraj failed to stop his Audi A5 Coupé when flagged down by officers. He was chased and arrested at Amanzimtoti. He pleaded guilty in the Scottburgh court, and was released on R5 000 bail. He will be appear in court again today.
