Call for caterers at the Hesketh Festival of Wheels

2015-01-13 00:00

EASTER Weekend will this year see the inaugural Hesketh Festival of Wheels hosted at the historic race track in Pietermaritzburg from April 3 to 6. The event is a fund-raiser for the Msunduzi Hospice Association, which will work together with the Hesketh Motor Club and Witness Wheels supplement to stage a celebration of everything on wheels.

Co-organiser Brian Bassett said the Festival of Wheels will differ from events like the Johannesburg International Motor Show or Pietermaritzburg’s long-running Cars in the Park in that everyone can buy a ride at an affordable price.

“We will avoid static displays and will sell rides around the track in everything from classic cars to today’s fastest racers, with prices starting at R50,” Bassett said.

Hospice CEO Warren Oxford-Hugget said food stalls will form a big part of the festival.

“We aim to have an Indian flavour to the food for the weekend festival — in keeping with the wonderful and enriching Indian heritage in KwaZulu-Natal — and we invite caterers to contact us with expressions of interest to provide such meals,” he said.

People interested in catering at the event from April 3 to 6 can e-mail warren@hospicekzn.co.za before January 30.

Successful candidates will be contacted in February.
