JOHANNESBURG — Disc jockey Heinrich van Rooyen was found guilty of double murder in the Circuit High Court in Knysna in the Southern Cape, SABC radio news reported yesterday.

Van Rooyen (25) murdered 19-year-old Jessica Wheeler and 20-year-old Victoria Stadler about three years ago.

Wheeler’s body was found in a churchyard in Knysna’s main street.

Stadler’s body was found a few weeks later in bushes in Noetzie just outside the town.

Stadler’s mother, Hannetjie, told SABC she always knew that the accused was guilty and that the judgment confirmed it.

Sentencing will take place on May 14 and 15.
