Career women at PCB lunch

2010-08-14 00:00

BUSINESSWOMEN in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas had the chance to let their hair down, relax and forget about work during a luncheon hosted by the Absa Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business (PCB) women empowerment desk yesterday.

Held annually in celebration of women, the Women in Business luncheon took place at the Royal Showgrounds and attracted more than 300 women.

PCB’s Mandisa Jostrey, who is the head of the women empowerment desk, believes that good food, live music, great entertainment and gift give-aways are the ingredients that make for successful event.

Giving a humorous and entertaining account of her life, guest of honour Les Aupiais advised the women about their careers, saying they should start small, maximise every moment and adopt a habit of lifetime learning.

Aupiais’s joined Natal Witness 30 years ago as a junior member of the editorial team. She now boasts a rich and eclectic journalistic background.

Today she is Carte Blanche’s guest presenter and director, Top Billing’s senior script writer and a celebrated lecturer and coach.
