AN undisclosed amount of money was taken during a cash-in-transit robbery at Jack’s Tyres in Clairwood yesterday.

Police said in the incident, that took place at about 12.15 pm, a security guard was robbed by two armed suspects. “It is alleged that the victim (34) was collecting cash from Jack’s Tyres. When he was about to put the money inside the vehicle, the suspects grabbed him and took the money. They fled the scene in their getaway vehicle,” police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

The robbery is being investigated by the Brighton Beach police station.

Police said no arrests had been made, but investigations are continuing.
