Catch KZN young talent on TV tonight

2008-08-15 00:00

KwaZulu-Natal has seven hopefuls in the search for stars for the South African version of High School Musical, as the competition has wound down to the final 18. Tonight the KZN contestants will be performing live on M-Net at 7 pm in the reality TV show’s fifth episode in which viewers take control and the search for Troy and Gabriella is determined 100% from votes.

Jarryd Nurden (16), Carl Ellis (24) and Mario Ogle (19) of Pietermaritzburg, along with Josslyn Hlenti (17), David Schlachter (20), Danaï Rau (17) and Daniel Wessels (18) of Durban have been in Cape Town this week, preparing for tonight’s performance. Voting closes at 10 am every Monday and every Monday evening the results show will be broadcast live from the Theatre On The Bay in Camps Bay. The performers who receive the fewest votes will be in the firing line. Although viewers have 100% of the vote, producer Pieter Toerien will be able to “save” those he thinks deserve a second chance.
