Celebration: Jean Kudernatsch

2008-08-05 00:00

The director and staff of the Tatham Art Gallery have invited Jean and Otto Kudernatsch and friends to a tea party on Sunday. This informal bring-and-share celebration will take place in the Lorna Ferguson Room where Jean and Otto have organised many excellent free concerts over the years. It seems appropriate that this celebration coincides with the annual Women’s Day weekend.

The Tatham would like to pay tribute to Jean for all her hard work on behalf of the South African Society of Music Teachers, which draws regular audiences to the gallery. Jean has been teaching music in the city for over 40 years and started the lunch-hour concerts in 1996.

The concerts have allowed young muscians to perform on a public platform at the beginning of their careers, and have also showcased many professional talents who have given their services for nothing — a tribute to the high regard in which Jean is held.

The tea is at 2.30 pm for 3 pm on Sunday. Safe parking will be available on the parliament side of the gallery, and all are welcome to attend. Please phone Kobie at 033 392 2801 for details.
