Chota Motala closures

2011-11-04 00:00

THERE will be road closures starting tonight and ending at midnight tomorrow linked to the construction for the Chota Motala Interchange N3 upgrade.

Site manager Bradley Naidoo said service ducts need to be placed across Chota Motala Road, which means traffic will need to be regulated while the work is carried out.

Chota Motala Road (Old Greytown Road) up to the intersection at Royston Road will be closed to traffic from 7 pm tonight to midnight tomorrow.

The section closed will be from East Street to Royston Intersection.

This will affect traffic travelling from Piertmaritzburg CBD to Northdale/Greytown only.

Traffic will be diverted along East Street to Manning and Ohrtmann Road.

Naidoo said that traffic entering Chota Motala Road from N3/Liberty Midlands Mall will be able to turn right over Chota Motala Bridge to East Street and then diverted to either Manning or Ohrtmann Road.

Traffic travelling into the CBD from Northdale/Greytown will be reduced to one lane.

The detour route will be clearly marked out, Naidoo said.

Delays are to be expected and motorists are advised to be patient. — Witness Reporter.
