Chota Motala: on-ramps to be closed over easter weekend

2012-04-02 00:00

ROAD closures at the construction site of the new Chota Motala interchange will be in effect between Thursday and next Monday.

Bradley Naidoo, construction site manager, said the Sanctuary Road on-ramp at Liberty Midlands Mall would be closed to traffic joining the N3 Durban-bound lane from noon on Thursday until 6 am on Friday.

“Traffic wanting to access the N3 to Durban, Northdale or Greytown will be diverted into Boshoff Street and will need to follow detour route markers that will direct them to their destination,” Naidoo said.

The on-ramp from Chota Motala Road (Church Street) will be closed to traffic wanting to join the N3 north-bound from noon on Sunday to 6 pm Monday.

“Traffic wanting to access the N3 to Johannesburg/Liberty Midlands Mall will be diverted to the city centre, then right on to Boshoff Street and will need to follow detour markers …

“Motorists must take note that the indicated closures could be extended for a longer period depending on the traffic volumes on the specific day,” said Naidoo.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
