DITCH the salads and cold slices and plan for a hot lunch on Christmas Day.

The SA Weather Office has predicted lots of rain accompanied by cool temperatures across the province for December 25.

Forecaster Stacey Colborne said Pietermaritzburg and Durban can expect a 60% chance of drizzle in the morning followed by a 60% chance of heavier showers and thundershowers for the afternoon.

“Rain and miserable weather is expected for most of the province.”

Pietermaritzburg and Durban residents can expect a comfortable 24 degrees, with the South Coast expecting around 23 degrees.
