Yes Please Guesthouse in Scottsville has scooped the Zulu Kingdom Service Excellence Award for B&B New Establishment of the Year 2009.Its Durban-based Yes Please Tours was placed runner-up in the ‘Best Tour Operator Established’ category.

Yes Please was an official transport supplier to Indaba 2009.

Emlyn Vaughan (marketing and customer liaison at Yes Please) told The Witness that the provincial award was a major scoop for the B&B, which is owned by local businessman Deon Marillier.

It employs 16 people in Pietermaritzburg.

Vaughan also heaped praise on the staff of the establishment, under the leadership of Bruce Cass.

“We’re different … [as] we don’t try to be clinical. We have a more laid- back environment.

“We try to break away from the norm in order to make people more comfortable. We’re also very transparent in the way we do our business,” he added.

The venue has attracted business from government departments, weddings, university graduations and recent sporting events held in the city.
