Conference for judges in Durban

2013-08-06 00:00

CHIEF Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng will discuss issues of violence against women with SA’s top female judges on Friday in Durban.

Justice Mogoeng will deliver a keynote address at the ninth annual conference of the South African chapter of the International Association of Women Judges, co-hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s (UKZN) School of Law. The conference will take place from August 9 to 12 at UKZN’s Howard College campus.

This will create a platform for women judges from diverse judicial systems to discuss pertinent legal topics and to exchange ideas on best practices.

The conference will also be attended by high-profile judicial officers such as the Judge President of KZN, Justice Chiman Patel.

A panel of academics, law students and judicial officers will discuss the importance of mentorship in the legal fraternity and institutions of higher education.
