Craven Week U13 starts in Bloem

THE U13 Craven Week started yesterday in Bloemfontein.

KwaZulu-Natal has just three players in the 22 from the Midlands. Other than two players from north of the Tugela, the others come from the Durban area.

Durban Prep supplies most players, with six in the squad, Glenwood Prep have four players selected and there are three from Westville Senior Primary.

The remainder are single representatives from their schools.

Both the U18 Academy Week and U16 Grant Khomo Week take place from July 1-4.

KZN has two teams at this festival with an academy side and a Country Districts team. The academy side will play SWD Eagles in their first match and the Country Districts play against the Leopards Country Districts XV. At the Grant Khomo week the first match for KZN is against the Pumas. The other two matches there are based on the results from the first game.

The SA Craven Week for U18 players is based in Port Elizabeth at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium from July 9 to 14. The KZN XV have a tough opening game against Free State on the Monday. On Saturday a squad of players will be named to take part in further trials before an SA U18 team will be announced.
