DA retains ward 33 with 92,6% majority

2013-09-19 00:00

RESIDENTS of eThekwini’s ward 33 demonstrated their confidence in DA leadership at their by-election yesterday when a whopping 92,6% of them elected DA public representative Nicole Graham as their new ward councillor.

This margin marked a significant improvement from 2011 when the DA pulled in an impressive 72% of the vote.

The fact that the DA has grown by an additional 20% in this area shows that residents know that where the DA governs, it governs well.

The complete vote per party is as follows: DA 3639 (92,6%) ANC 268 (6,8%) NFP 22 (0,6%).

An elated Graham thanked all those who came out in their droves to support her and the party and vowed to serve the community to the best of her ability.

DA KZN Leader Sizwe Mchunu said the results of the by-election demonstrated a solid endorsement of the DA and he is confident that Graham will live up to the mandate expected of her.
