Dad’s murder: Son re-arrested

2012-11-21 00:00

A 29-YEAR-OLD man charged with murdering his father appeared briefly in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday, after his case was withdrawn two weeks ago.

Thabani Ngubane, of kwaMnyandu in the Vulindlela area, will apply for bail on November 30.

Ngubane is charged with the murder of his father, Skhwebu Allan Ngubane (68), following a family dispute on October 29.

The elder Ngubane had apparently intervened when his son slapped his cousin and was himself later shot and killed.

The son was arrested for the crime, but was later released after the case was provisionally withdrawn.

He was arrested again at the weekend. — WR.
