Deena sets sights on Durban

2013-09-14 00:00

DEENA Naidoo, the winner of MasterChef South Africa season one, has revealed that he would love to open a version of his restaurant Aarya in his hometown.

“It’s my greatest ambition to work with Tsogo Sun to open a restaurant in Durban. The template is set and we have a winning combination there, which I believe will work in Durban,” he said. “Tsogo Sun has been integral to the success of Aarya, which is one of the top-performing restaurants in Monte Casino. It has certainly exceeded my expectations.”

Naidoo, who was present at the finale of MasterChef SA season two in Johannesburg on Wednesday, said he found the event very nostalgic. “I relived a lot of memories,” he added. He also paid tribute to winner Kamini Pather and runner-up Leandri van der Wat.
